ABOUT

WHAT EXACTLY IS PROJECT GRADUATION?

Project Graduation is an all night alcohol and drug-free celebration for high school seniors on their graduation night, immediately following commencement. It is put on through a joint effort between students, parents, GBHS PTSO Project Graduation Committee, the Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach communities and the Community Drug & Alcohol Council (CDAC).

Who attends Project Graduation?

Only seniors who are eligible to graduate from Gulf Breeze High School are permitted to attend.  Where is it held?  Over the years it has been held at Big Kahuna’s, The Track, The Naval Base, and Waterville USA just to name a few.  GBHS is known for its “Mystery Grad Party” because historically the location is kept a secret.

Why is Project Graduation so Important?

According to the Florida Division of Alcohol Beverages and Tobacco, alcohol is the #1 choice of teens.  National statistics show that more young people between 16 – 20 are injured or killed between the hours of 10 PM and 4AM during graduation season (May/June) than any other time of the year. ‘Party hopping’ is often how graduates like to celebrate.  Project Graduation is a safe alternative to party hopping by providing graduates with a safe place to celebrate thereby keeping them off the roads in an alcohol and drug free environment.

How is Project Graduation Funded?

Donations, Donations, Donations!  We rely on parents, community clubs, and local businesses to provide us with support.  Students also pay a small ticket fee depending on how much we raise in funding.

How Can I Help?

Make a donation. Encourage your senior to attend. Tell your friends. Get them to donate. Volunteer to be on the committee. All of it helps! If you are willing to donate your time on a committee, you may contact us at info@gbhs-projectgrad.org  to set up a meeting to discuss more details or message us on our Facebook page (GBHS Project Grad).

Donations are accepted year round and may be mailed to GBHS Project Graduation, P.O. Box 208, Gulf Breeze, and FL 32562 or by going here.
